Ouvert Mirror

En ouvert is the French name given to an open body alignment in which a ballet dancer faces the audience downstage. OUVERT, a 199cm high mirror, presents an equally open and self-confident stance in the eye of its beholder. Taking the name from the world of dance is fitting since OUVERT zeroes in on the playful and swinging lightness sought by NOTE's designers in their work: the world is serious enough – so it makes sense to leave it to the objects that enrich people’s everyday lives to espouse effortlessness and joie de vivre.

What Wittmann and NOTE have playfully created together speaks to a finely-tuned sense of design coupled with handcrafted details, as well as the high quality of workmanship manifested in all of the products that leave the Wittmann workshops. New mirror OUVERT is encased by a leather frame, whose light padding creates additional sculptural depth. Four seams in twin-needle stitching set at fixed positions emphasise the proportions while highlighting the outstanding level of craftsmanship. An instantly likeable home accessory, the mirror either leans casually against the wall or is elegantly hung upon it using the mounting provided.
