Tact Folding Screen

Design:  Arthur Arbesser (2024)

For almost two thousand years, the folding screen has a long tradition in the architecture of gardens and rooms as a wind guard, partition or privacy screen. Its surfaces virtually demand for creative designs and continue to provide a means of expression for numerous artists to this day. To satisfy the longing for intimacy and discretion, designer Arthur Arbesser calls his version of „paravent“ TACT, from the English for sensitivity and decency. What is hidden or revealed behind is left to imagination. Especially in smaller living spaces and (art) exhibitions, folded screens are more in demand than ever.

The new TACT screen by Arthur Arbesser consists of four individual panels. Each of the panels is precisely edged in black leather, the upholstered surfaces are divided into two sections which can be upholstered in a single colour in fabric or leather as well as in a playful variety of materials, setting the stage for completely different scenarios. TACT bears the creative signature of Arthur Arbesser and demonstrates the perfection of craftsmanship and functionality so typical of Wittmann.
