ABN Amro Bank
Architect Evelyne Merkx’s basic idea was to reflect the bank’s transparent business practices in an open floor plan. A communication zone in the central hall was born of a desire to create an “implant” that would be experienced as such. An experimental acoustic concept and the open, stage-like character of this area are intended to invite users of the hall to enjoy a change of scene. Josef Hoffmann’s Kubus armchairs with their clear lines are the visual focus of this miss-en-scéne.
